    Aint that the truth. I don't imagine Halifax is safe from the
    mahem and mischief either. Although you don't get warm weather,
    which brings out the mahem makers in droves, like we do in more
    temperate climes. If I had a 4000 litre fuel tank waiting to be
    drained by a passing boat, I'd sure be taking precautions. How
    bout you? Do you have anything worth stealing?

    I have a 70 gallon tank, that’s over 200 liters. I have had gas stolen
    from the tank. Over 30 gallons one time. Did a short 5 mile fishing trip after filling. That’s is about 2 gallons. Next trip, decided to top up. Seemed like that 5 mile trip used over 25 gallons. Fairly easy to steal
    gas from boat in storage. Heck they steal the whole boat and trailer and RV’s. Why not a concern for the fuel? Not much worry with a small boat
    and a 5 gallon tank. Tank costs more than the fuel.

    18C here today but brisk winds make it feel colder than that.
    In a more civilized society, we don't have to worry quite as much but there are still plenty who would steal the pennies off a dead southerners eyes.

    We have Republican Sheriffs in Florida who say we can shoot burglars.

    My local Sheriff likes catching thieves, large and small. They don't
    have a lot of major crime here like those Northern "blue" cities so
    they have the time to track down car hoppers and shop lifters.
    Contrary to the Northern impression Florida is also tough on gun
    crime. If a car hopper steals a gun and then robs another car while he
    has it, that is a 10 year mandatory gun charge, on top of the car
    burglary.

    Yes, certainly we have lots of crime. Drug war fuels the shootings in
    certain areas, and lack of prosecutions for car theft and other medium
    level crimes and a great welfare system that gives us at least 40% of the homeless in America all lead back to really incompetent politicos.
