    MUSEUM Harold Kennedy, N2GG, has donated his "Blue Lightning" to the AWA Museum. It's a 2010 replica of a 1920 1/2KW synchronous rotary spark
    gap transmitter. It took Kennedy over 1,000 hours to complete the
    beautiful piece.

    In the UK, I am allowed to possess one, but the Men In Suits and the
    fines start arriving when I turn it on without having a licence.

    Dunno what the rules are in the US of A, thougbut.

    I doubt that there is a licence allowing you to operate a spark transmitter.

    I think it may have been included in a school science lesson but I'm
    not too sure. At my age memories from school are very poor apart from
    making bombs!
