A MAN has been fined more than £400 and given six points on his driving licence after he was caught using his phone behind the wheel of his car.
Tyrone Brown, of Pertwees Court, Colchester, was caught using his mobile when he was driving his Renault through Chelmsford in July last year.
The 25-year-old had initially denied the charge, but after changing his plea, he appeared in court last Tuesday where magistrates fined him a total of £448.
An additional punishment of six driving licence penalty points was also added to Brown’s sentence.
