I dunno if this from Essexham would be of help.
Not had a chance to explore it yet as I'm still wading through the Ofcom document.

It causes me a great deal of regret and remorse
that so many people are unable to understand what I write.

    Hi -

Is this group dead? I expected to see a flood of comments but nobody
seems to be interested. Where is everybody?

    Regards,

I had a brief skim and there wasn't anything particularly objectionable that
I could see, although I'm not super familiar with the current rules.
Basically simplifying things and generally allowing amateurs to do more.

I'm sure some Intermediate folks are attached to their 2E1ABC etc callsign
    but that doesn't bother me.

    I. for one, am postponing my response until I've worked out a sensible suggestion as to how callsigns should be recycled without newcomers
getting mistaken for venerable old-timers. [But yes - I do know that the
    horse has already bolted.]

    Regards,

    The group is merely resting.

I think the majority view is that the proposed changes are a good thing.

The only adverse comments I've heard about it is the time before
lapsed/SK callsigns are re-issued . 2 years might be a bit short, but
    I'm not bothered really.
