    I keep dropping in here in the vain hope that there might be some
    interesting posts (or even boring ones), but sadly no.

    Is it worth keeping this NG open?

    Of course: people are too keen to close newsgroups just because they are
    quiet or seemingly dormant. Once it's gone it's pretty unlikely it will
    come back.

    I collected Free uk food+drink.home-brewing and it was more than quiet -
    while I was in hospital/respite 'care', so some jerk removed it.

    I'm wheelchair or bed bound, and now I have questions (and people have 'tidied-up' my books), I try to post them to the group and I find that
    while I've been incommunicado, it has been removed.

    People *do* post here - why not try harder?

    It doesn't put *this* people off - indeed, if it weeds out the trolls
    and worse, so much the better.

    I quite agree - I'd not like to have to (indeed, I wouldn't) go back to
    the unmoderated group. Quality of posts is far more important than quantity!
