• Cheap, sturdy, disposable wired closed-back, around ear headphones for

From Ottavio Caruso@21:1/5 to All on Fri Apr 21 13:58:15 2023
I need a solid, disposable, wired, cheap pair of cans that can withstand extensive brutalisation when I'm out and about.

It must be wired because bluetooth on my Thinkpad is finicky and ideally
with removable cable, because that's the one that usually breaks.

Sound quality doesn't matter because I only use them for morse code.

Closed back because of external noise.

My 1st thought would have been an AKG but the cable is too long and it's
    not removable.

I use cheap Lidl ( non bluetooth) ones for my /P operations. The two I
have have got a fixed lead and a socket for a removable lead. The fixed
one usually stops working and I snip it off and use a decent jack -jack
    lead in the other port

If you want removeable cable, and rugged you need a pair
    of Sennheiser HD 25s

    https://en-us.sennheiser.com/on-ear-dj-headphone-hd25

You want cheap, you can find workable headphones for
about 10 quid, when they die buy another pair. Cheap is not going
to mean replaceable cable or solid.

If it's a PC advice question it's best trolled on Farcebook, not this ng.

I thought Heil Sound was the standard headset for hammy mens these days?
I did have a pair a while back with switchable HC4/HC4 inserts then I
found they were basically a generic headset/mic with the boom changed.
You can't beat a Pye tulip mic with an original Datong clipper IMO.

The Heil ones are comfortable even after several hours.
