    Just being nosey....

On QRZ, it's interesting to check the provenance of the G2RE entry, and
then in M7MLE's QRZ information, the provenance of G5TM - who "Achieved
    my full licence September 2019".

Come on Jim - you KNOW you too would like a really old old-time
callsign! Or would you settle for GM2JIM, which, unless it has been
snaffled up by a newcomer, could still be available, as it is beyond
    where the original G2+3s ended).

I was amused that an M7 was dealing with Legacy things and a G2 was
    championing youth.

as I have said before OFCON has trashed the traditions and history of
amateur radio....It is now just a joke ....you haven't a clue who you
are talking to....everybody should just ask all those fake G2 to go onto
cw and embarrass them....we have a transgendered faker GM2UWX who
conducts QSO's on beacon frequencies on 2m....and gets stroppy when you
    tell it ...

There was no burning, that is one of Spike’s infamous revision of the
    facts.

There was a leak - I forget what exactly- and some books etc were disposed
of. * Not the wisest of moves certainly although, in real terms I wonder if anyone would ever look at them. How often do we see old reference books on
sale at rallies etc and no one even looking at them? In reality, copies of
old books exist in places like the British Library so nothing was lost to
the world. I discovered a number of years ago, even a copy the most obscure goes to the British Library when a friend published a book on the postal history of a small region in what became, for a while, part of Yugoslavia.

    * No, not all were damaged.

You may be surprised to learn that many schools are closing their libraries
and have disposed of their books. They recognise things have gone ‘online’.

Personally, I still like traditional books - although I have a Kindle etc-
    but things change.

I’ve recently been investigating an engineering problem- mechanical- to verify what needed doing, the required rules, compliance ‘paperwork’ etc, …… It was all investigated electronically and with a few phone calls etc. I doubt there is a book that even covers it. (More exactly, I would need to qualify as a recognised ‘test house’ rather than use one who has engineers who specify what must be modified and sign off the design etc to satisfy
    the DVLA. )

    Just being nosey....

On QRZ, it's interesting to check the provenance of the G2RE
entry, and then in M7MLE's QRZ information, the provenance of
G5TM - who "Achieved my full licence September 2019".

Come on Jim - you KNOW you too would like a really old old-time
callsign! Or would you settle for GM2JIM, which, unless it has
been snaffled up by a newcomer, could still be available, as it
is beyond where the original G2+3s ended).
    wouldn't waste £20 on trying to be something I am not.....I don't
even appear on QRZ.COM OR QRZ CQ OR WHAT EVER THE RIP OFF IS
    CALLED....

Might it not be the gibbering and the operating like a clueless
cunt that causes people to think you're pirate, Ooh Arrr, Jim?

but that is what hammy mens do ...

Perhaps they think that you're an M3 who spent £20 buying a G4 call
and can't understand why you'd buy one with such a dodgy
    backstory?

I know nobody can rely on callsigns any longer ....anyway only fool
licenses can buy a call and fake it .....thought you would know that...worked a few punters mobile on 40m on Saturday.....even m3ysb
who is a good signal for 10w says he is using some big fancy antenna
but google earth shows otherwise...licensed for 20 years as an
m3....the incentive licensing scheme is working well

Heard an M0 and an M6 discussing the jolly japes / fights they had
on CB and the peeps they know who died from booze / drugs - yoos would'a
    loved it, Jummy.

Anyway, I've listened to 2m recently, and the good news is that
there's a LOT worse than you aboot thees dayz.

I will take that as a compliment burny...thanks

You'd be quite high class and techy for an M7 - ever thought about

On QRZ, it's interesting to check the provenance of the G2RE >>>>>>>>> entry, and then in M7MLE's QRZ information, the provenance >>>>>>>>> of G5TM - who "Achieved my full licence September 2019".

Come on Jim - you KNOW you too would like a really old
old-time callsign! Or would you settle for GM2JIM, which,
unless it has been snaffled up by a newcomer, could still be >>>>>>>>> available, as it is beyond where the original G2+3s

wouldn't waste £20 on trying to be something I am not.....I >>>>>>>> don't even appear on QRZ.COM OR QRZ CQ OR WHAT EVER THE RIP

Might it not be the gibbering and the operating like a
clueless cunt that causes people to think you're pirate, Ooh
    Arrr, Jim?
but that is what hammy mens do ...

Perhaps they think that you're an M3 who spent £20 buying a G4
call and can't understand why you'd buy one with such a dodgy
    backstory?

I know nobody can rely on callsigns any longer ....anyway only
fool licenses can buy a call and fake it .....thought you would
know that...worked a few punters mobile on 40m on
Saturday.....even m3ysb who is a good signal for 10w says he is
using some big fancy antenna but google earth shows
otherwise...licensed for 20 years as an m3....the incentive
    licensing scheme is working well

Heard an M0 and an M6 discussing the jolly japes / fights they had
on CB and the peeps they know who died from booze / drugs - yoos
    would'a loved it, Jummy.

Anyway, I've listened to 2m recently, and the good news is that
there's a LOT worse than you aboot thees dayz.

I will take that as a compliment burny...thanks

You'd be quite high class and techy for an M7 - ever thought about
    doing a foundation course?

don't be silly...I am a superior being as it is ....used to be a
new arsed GM4 in 1974 and everybody looked down on me...but now

Yeah, now you're an old-arsed, but new-livered GM4 that everybody
    looks sideways at.

    Yeah, now you're an old-arsed, but new-livered GM4 that
    everybody looks sideways at.

    suits me

    totly...

Would a Kenwood TR751E be worth more with a tone board init, or
should I just punt it and buy something pre-toned, Dodgy Jim?

mutch you asking?...are the sq/vol controls OK ?

Bean unused for aboot 10/15 years. Seems fine (had a simplex
gibber, nobody on ssb) but the S meter lamp has died somewhere
along the way. Don't really know what it's worth - which is why
I'm here asking the Paisley Arthur Daley, init.

Wot goes wrong with the vol/squelch?

they all fuck up.....email me with your price....

I HAVE NOT GOT A PRICE!

Dunno whether replace the lamp, ctcss it up and keep it. Or,
replace the lamp ctcss it up and sell it. Or, replace the lamp and sell
    it.

IC-R7000 s go deaf when the caps in the dc/dc convertor die, and Storno
PSUs can have a metric fuck-load of cracked joints on a quite a small
PCB. Them's my top tips of the day, Jim.

    Off for a hen.
