    WTF was anyone obstructing the highway not arrested and charged with
    such ?

    I bet that had a bunch of disgruntled council tax payers turned up at
    Council house and obstructed the road, they'd have been inside a cell
    before you can say "What do we pay our council tax for ?"

    By all means picket. But surely the second you deliberately step in the
    road to prevent a vehicle passing, you are committing a crime.

    Birmingham City Council has been granted a court order to stop waste
    vehicles being blocked from leaving depots.

    The authority believes more than 12,000 tonnes of uncollected waste have accumulated on streets this week as all-out strike action by refuse
    workers continues.

    Collections were said to have been disrupted "due to industrial action by pickets" where police recently scaled down their presence.

    It's the Independent Republic of West Midlands Policeland and they can't
    be bothered with such futilities as patrolling the roads and
    guaranteeing safety for the public.

    If tasering and pepper spray is good enough for a 92 year old amputee in a wheelchair
    it's good enough for a load of striking dustmen.
