Hi All,
I am reading a novel set in approx 1911….
One of the characters has just been arrested (framed!) for attempting to procure a woman’s “services”. And “threatened” with a prison sentence.
I believe that today this isn’t a crime unless the other party is underage or being coerced by someone(s) else.
Would it have been a criminal offence in Edwardian times?
I don't know, but I suggest you may find more knowledgable people in the moderated group, uk.legal.moderated.
