I ran into a similar issue when trying to fit a 1.5 bowl sink with a drainer into a standard base unit, it’s trickier than it looks!
The first thing to check is the width of your base unit. Most 1.5 bowl sinks need at least a 600mm unit, but depending on the design and depth of the bowls, you might actually need 700mm or more to fit it comfortably, especially if the drainer is on the
same plane.
Another common issue is the position of the support panels inside the unit, sometimes they interfere with the second bowl or the waste fittings. In my case, I had to trim one side panel slightly (carefully!) and reroute some of the plumbing to make space
for the waste trap.
Also, make sure to check if your worktop has enough space to accommodate the overall width of the sink + drainer combo. If it's a tight fit, consider getting advice from a professional or checking this helpful guide I found. Click to view more
