    at a kitchen socket.

    Would have been more entertaining if they were claiming to have tested
    it at a socket that does not even exist! :-)

    I notice they had put a seal on the service connector block splitting
    the tails to the two CUs. Seems a bit cheeky since that is the
    customer's "side" of the installation rather than the DNO's

    They did the same to my (supplied and fitted by me) isolator switch
    (both input and output side), when they fitted a smart meter for our EV charging plan. I did think it a bit cheeky, but it's mine and if I want
    access to it, the seals will come right off.

    You would assume that they test the polarity at the socket before and
    after the meter is swapped

    That's what he did with mine - but I knew it was OK as I have a similar
    device.
    'Smart' means going from 2 presses to get the readings to 5 presses and then
    30 sec to note or is goes back.
    The home screen does show how much has been used (since 5th. of this month
    when it was fitted) but I don't kow if that will reset or continue next
    month - wait and see!
