Just been digging around re iTunes->Music.app & what's different, I
came across <https://github.com/cormiertyshawn895/Retroactive> Allows
you to run iPhoto, iTunes & Aperture on Catalina up to Ventura (also
Final Cut Pro 7, Logic Pro 9, and iWork ’09 on macOS Mojave or macOS
High Sierra - should you wish to do so).

Not the same but it would be nice if 32 bit apps such as MacSOUP could be made to run on Catalina onwards without having to resort to an all singing and dancing VM.

I use a Mojave VM to run it. It's a 30GB+ bundle so a bit of an

When I had a 'Doze reason to run Parallels it was easy enough
to run a Mojave VM on it too. Now that my 'Doze case has died
I think I may ditch Parallels as being too costly. Besides,
I don't like subscription software.

I'm using the free version of VMware Fusion Player on my Intel Mac. You
just need to register first. It calls itself "Player" but still allows
you to create VMs.

Ahhhhh... yes! Now, let's see... I know I tried it when it came out,
but there was a problem with it, which is why I went back to the old
version (1.8). I've just opened it now and at first glance it seems ok.

Mmmmmm. After running it for a while 2.2 seems a bit unstable. A couple of crashes, odd window behaviour etc. It’s no surprise as the app has not been updated for years. Maybe it will run better on earlier macOS versions including Mojave. When I’ve time I’ll try it on my Intel Mac running Monterey plus Mojave on a VM.

I thought I'd better check out Unison 2.2 (which is 64 bit compatible)
as promised sooner rather than later before I raise your expectations!
As I hinted earlier it has problems reading newsgroups posts when
running in Monterey and Ventura. The sub window which lists out thread
messages usually does not appear when you select/click on a thread in
the main messages window.
In Ventura the app then crashes frequently. If you are able to properly
display a post, it seems you can create and post a followup. I tried
the app next on my Mojave VM created using the free version of VMware
Fusion and it seemed to work OK! I don't have access to Catalina or Big
Sur systems though. Incidentally my Mojave VM takes up just over 30GB
currently. So you might want to look at another newsgroup client if you
upgrade from Mojave but you could create a VM which can still be used
to run Unison (32 or 64 bit versions) plus any other favourite 32 bit
apps.
Thanks for the info - much appreciated. Are you using Usenapp also?
How's it looking..?
I used to use Hogwasher as well... It does say it still works on
Catalina, even though it looks like it's abandonware. Trouble is, even
though I have a serial number it won't work. I did email the dev a
couple of years ago but no reply.

Hogwasher 5.24 seems to work OK even in Ventura. When I had a problem with
it a while ago, they came back to me almost immediately. I use several clients including Usenapp which works fine apart from not supporting the display of X-Faces.
