I am asked whether I wish to download and save the file "loginAppContainer.do"

This is not what I expect. I used the banking page last on Thursday
evening 15 August when it prompted me for the last 4 digits of my
card and my PIN Sentry numbers, and let me log in to manage my
    account.

I can repeat this using Firefox on the iPad.

I see the same behaviour using Windows 7 Pro with Firefox and Chrome.

I can log into accounts with Halifax and Nationwide OK.

Has the Barclays website been compromised by malware?

    What do others here see?

Yes getting the same here using Safari and Firefox with the
latest Sonoma on my M1 MBP. The file in questions appear to be zero
bytes in size. Fortunately I don't bank with Barclays. I wonder if
there's similar problems with their banking app?

On Safari I just get a pop up asking me to accept (unspecified)
downloads, Firefox keeps reverting to the home page when I click Login.

    OP here ...

Tried an Android phone using Chrome - similar offer to download a file,
    which then fails.

Most likely a pig's ear on the part of some web bonzo at Barclay's, I'd have said.

I see the same. Download the file and it has 0 bytes. I could rm it, no problem. Before trying the download, a smart folder check claimed that there
is no file of that name anywhere on my machine. Clicking Login again just downloads it again, seemingly overwriting the empty one I just downloaded.

Same with Firefox under Win-10 and Linux Mint (both in VMs).

Pretty common. There's other buttons on the site that the fuck up on a semi-regular basis too, the 'done' one from completing a bank transfer
payment always does that for me. Fortunately that one is completely
    unneeded.

I dunno what their web team is up to, but it's not competence.

    Cheers - Jaimie
