    I just use keychain.

There’s also Authy, Bitwarden, and Microsoft Authenticator.

But I like the way the Keychain one just integrates nicely, and entering
the code is just a click.

I use the Keychain to keep my passwords too, I didn't know
it can do 2FA. How do you make it do that?

later: It seems I should DMOR; now that I know it can be done I see
that there are many articles about this - I'll put my reading specs on.

Yeah, you just go into a stored password item, then select setup
verification code, scan the QR on the account settings and away you go.

They’re all similar really, it down to which you trust most, and whether
    you need cross browser/system compatibility.

I mostly stick with all apple stuff anyway, so for me it works best. It’s certainly the most seamless experience IMHO.

Thanks, Andy, that looks like the way to go.

That went well; now I can again access my doctors' services using their 'Patient Access' setup which lately demands passcode verification.

Yeah, that's something I use all too frequently these days too.

    Glad you sorted it.

For me it almost seems too easy (a bit like the Passcode system too,
that really feels like you're missing some steps)/

    [I did mean ‘Passkey’ there]

I know what you mean: I found the QR on the site I needed to access
using my Macbook and scanned it with my iPhone. That opened Passwords
on the phone and I selected the password for that site. Magically, it
was then all done and working on both iPhone and Macbook; very slick.

Yeah, that is great when it does work. I tried Authy for a while, mainly because that was the only option at first, then Bitwarden got quite good at
it. I switched to Bitwarden as Authy required some back and forth actions
to get the code. Bitwarden has started working with iOS for some partial integration, it usually just let you paste the code in. However, Keychain integrates so much better.

I do like the way that with stuff like this, once you find the method,
nine times out of ten it just works. It's another one of those benefits
of being in the "Walled Garden" eh?

Indeed. I’m actually quite concerned about all the legal crap that’s going on at the moment, trying to unlock the Apple ecosystem. It’s one of the biggest reasons I stick with Apple, and pay the cost of ownership with some degree of willingness.

If the bureaucrats succeed, I think it could kill off Apple. They could
    succeed where Bill failed.

I did mean to make it clear that I do now mainly use Keychain, (or iCloud Passwords depending on what device you’re using).

I do still use Bitwarden, but only to keep my old App licence numbers, and
a few bits that just don’t really work as easily in Keychain.
