Seems the mentally ill folk are out in force. 230 posts filtered into my
bin in 3 days. A record?

Yup. Same here. Seems to be par for the course these days :( I suspect most of it is down to some attention seeking troll who insists on crossposting
his off topic crap here.

Same here - got to love a good kill-file.
Yes of course because you are using filters/kill files as I do. However
when I use slrn for instance it tells me how many posts have been killed although I cannot actually see them. It’s only when users respond to these trolls that one becomes aware of the perpetrators.
I too have good kill-files but for a variety of reasons it’s not always possible to avoid seeing follow-ups to these unwanted messages that the trolls keep posting.

Certainly is it possible. Filter Action must be "Ignore subthread".
Learn to Filter.

Learn to filter. And good newsreaders are able to log filter activity.

Yes but you have to see the start message before ignoring it.
I see: You have no clue how it works.

I do, but never mind - at least we both have a common enemy.

That person is always at the root of a subthread. It is already ignored
and all other posts in this subthread as well.
