From Mark@21:1/5 to All on Wed Jan 11 15:53:32 2023
For quite some time now (years!) if I reboot with TextEdit open & I
have several tabs open, when it comes back there is ALWAYS one tab that
opens as a separate window. Always. I can 'Merge All Windows' but it
doesn't stick. Ever. I thought it might be because I had too many tabs
(it's not), or that that tab was plain text rather than rich text, or
vice versa (it's not). Not a big issue but very strange.

I think I first raised that with Apple beta testing about six years
    ago...

Similar vintage bug: If you merge Preview windows and reboot, they
demerge completely and un-minimize if they were.

Six year ago! I don't use Preview that much to notice, but good to
know. As I say, it's not massively inconvenient - just odd. Thanks.

Looking back, I raised them both three times in consecutive OS betas
    then gave up. Sigh.
