After a bit if faddling (brain not in gear yet) I pinged the fixed
address and lo and behold got a response which is odd because DHCP >>addresses are supposed to start at 192.168.1.100 here. Turned out it is
the Tenda Nova. I have no idea how it got that address, anybody know how
I can change it please? Can't find techy stuff like that in the app.
What is a Tenda Nova please?
(I am assuming its a Router but wanted to check first :-) )
It's a WiFi Home Mesh system, I use it to avoid running cables and avoid upsetting any radio amateurs who aren't keen on powerline adaptors!
After an hour of fiddling I seem to be back in business. I don't think I
can give the Tenda Nova a fixed IP address but it it now using one in the
100's and the main PC is back on 1.6 where it should be. I have no idea
how I managed that - I had an Android tablet in one hand that kept turning itself off, a laptop on my lap, both connected by WiFi so great fun while re-booting the Nova. Why don't we get proper programs to control these
devices for goodness sake?
