Looks to me like tariffs are generating income.
First of all, the point of the tariffs is *not* to generate revenue for the federal government. Second, the tariffs are going to shrink the economy, causing
a net *reduction* in federal revenue. If tariff revenue is $100 billion, but the
economy shrinks enough such that the *loss* of other tax revenue is $200 billion, then net revenue to the government will fall, and because spending will
remain the same, the deficit will grow.
Trump is tanking the economy.
