Christopher Mackey(Shelby County Jail)
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis man is facing charges for the rape and kidnapping of a teenage girl.
Police responded to an apartment complex near the airport Jan. 10 where
a 15-year-old girl said she was kidnapped at gunpoint and taken to a
hotel.
The girl told police she was raped for hours by a man she later
identified as 35-year-old Christopher Mackey from a photo lineup.
According to a police report, the victim said she told Mackey her age
and tried to escape several times but he tore her clothes and continued
the assault.
Police interviewed Mackey Sunday and subsequently arrested him. He’s now charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape.
Mackey was booked into the Shelby County Jail on $50,000 bond.
