STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A man is facing six consecutive life
sentences plus an additional 12 years through Stoddard County Missouri.

According to Stoddard County Prosecutor’s office Shea D Johnson has been obtained as a “Predatory Sexual Offender” on Wednesday, September 18,
2024, after which Johnson pled guilty to all pending charges.

This matter was filed in August 2020 and was scheduled to proceed to a
jury trial September 24-27 before Judge Robert N. Mayer.

Prosecuting Attorney Smith and First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ryan recently amended charges in this case to allege five counts of Statutory
Sodomy 1st Degree with a child under age 14, one count of Attempted Rape
1st Degree with a child under 14, and three counts of Incest.

All crimes were alleged to have occurred between January 1,
    2020-December 31, 2020.

The amended charges state the defendant as a “predatory sexual
offender.” On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the Court found that the
State had proved that Defendant should be classified as a “predatory
sexual offender” under Section 566.125 RSMo. This status would cause the defendant, if found guilty, to face a mandatory sentence of life
imprisonment as to each sodomy and rape charge, with eligibility for
parole only after 30 years served on each count. The Court also found
that, if found guilty, under Section 558.026 RSMo each mandatory life
sentence would have to run consecutively, not concurrently, such that
the Defendant would be required to complete one sentence before another sentence would begin to run. Once the Court made these determinations, Defendant plead guilty as charged to all counts. Judge Mayer accepted Defendant’s guilty plea, finding it to have been knowingly, freely, voluntarily, and intelligently made. The victim read a victim impact
statement to the Court, after which Judge Mayer sentenced Defendant as
follows: 1. Count I (Statutory Sodomy)— LIFE IMPRISONMENT with
eligibility for parole only after 30 years served, 2. Count II
(Statutory Sodomy)— CONSECUTIVE TERM OF LIFE IMPRISONMENT with
eligibility for parole only after additional 30 years served, 3. Count
III (Statutory Sodomy)— CONSECUTIVE TERM OF LIFE IMPRISONMENT with eligibility for parole only after additional 30 years served, 4. Count
IV (Statutory Sodomy)— CONSECUTIVE TERM OF LIFE IMPRISONMENT with
eligibility for parole only after additional 30 years served, 5. Count V (Statutory Sodomy) — CONSECUTIVE TERM OF LIFE IMPRISONMENT with
eligibility for parole only after additional 30 years served, 6. Count
VI (Attempted Rape) — CONSECUTIVE TERM OF LIFE IMPRISONMENT with
eligibility for parole only after additional 30 years served, 7. Count
VII (Incest) — Maximum Four Years Consecutive Prison Sentence, 8. Count
VIII (Incest) — Maximum Four Years Consecutive Prison Sentence, 9. Count
IX (Incest) — Maximum Four Years Consecutive Prison Sentence PA Smith
says in a statement: “Justice has been served for the victim and the community. The Defendant is held accountable for his crimes and has
received the maximum penalty under law. We have also avoided an
unnecessary jury trial that would have forced the victim to testify,
suffering further anguish. This Office appreciates law enforcement’s
work in helping to build a strong case. However, we are most proud of
victim, who has been brave and cooperative in order to bring the
Defendant to justice. We hope this case sends a clear message that the
State will not rest in seeking due justice for child victims in Stoddard County. We will use our best efforts and unrelenting vigor in pursuing
serious charges against anyone who commits sexual abuse against minors.”
