No amount of cosmetic restorative surgery will repair California
Governor Gavin Newsom’s well-deserved reputation

As more proof that California Governor Gavin Newsom lacks morals, ethics
or even the basic ability to lead the state as its chief executive, he’s
now embracing policy positions Republicans have begged him to adopt.

Gavin Newsom is going through a reputation facelift, which will likely
end up as a facelift gone wrong.

The problem is that Gavin Newsom has been governor since January 2019 –
six years – and even mainstream media is taking notice. Not even
cosmetic restorative surgery or a liquid facelift with injectable dermal fillers will improve the visual signs of his crumbling political career.

No repositioning or reinventing policy decisions and positions, chronic
budget deficits and reckless spending, Covid corruption, homeless
malfeasance, climate grift, can give Gavin Newsom the cosmetic
restorative surgery he needs.

If California Governor Gavin Newsom really cared about the people and
what is good for the state, he would have led the Los Angeles Palisades
fire cleanup and rebuild. It is evident that Gavin Newsom does not care
about those people, even though they voted for him. He had an
opportunity to do the right thing, but it would have required hard work, sincerity, and human compassion.

If Gavin Newsom really cared about the people and what is good for the
state, he never would have placed millions of illegal immigrants on
Medi-Cal, bankrupting the system, preventing low-income California
residents from getting the medical care they need. Today Newsom is
proposing cutting back health care for illegal immigrants in California.

If California Governor Gavin Newsom really cared about the people and
what is good for the state, he never would have disappeared $27+billion taxpayer dollars to dubious non-profits and NGOs so they could provide
services and housing for 187,000 drug addicted, mentally ill homeless
vagrants and criminals living on California streets.

If California Governor Gavin Newsom really cared about the people and
what is good for the state, he would have prioritized critical wildfire prevention projects and spending the day he took office in January 2019.
Today Newsom says he is “accelerating critical wildfire prevention
projects and increasing our investments to 10 times the 2019 level from
when I took office.”

If California Governor Gavin Newsom really cared about the people and
what is good for the state, he would have lowered drug costs before
President Donald Trump did. Today he is “proposing new oversight of PBMs
— the middlemen driving up drug prices — to be licensed by Dept. Managed Health Care, report pricing data, and act in their clients’ best
interest.”

Notably, Gavin Newsom is expanding access to medication abortion through
CalRx, showing you that he’s no fan of women who have babies.

If Gavin Newsom really cared about affordable housing, instead of suing conservative cities, he would have streamlined permitting, cut CEQA and regulations, and actually begun building more affordable housing in 2019
– this is his latest policy flip.

If Gavin Newsom cared about the homeless, he would have addressed “California’s mental health and homelessness crisis” in 2019. California is home to the majority of America’s homeless despite Newsom spending
more than $27+ billion of taxpayer dollars. This week Newsom announced
that “the state is providing a model to tackle encampments humanely
while acting with the required urgency.”

At least he admitted “The time for inaction is over.”

If Gavin Newsom really cared about California, he’d shelve his climate
change grift. Instead, last week California Governor Gavin Newsom was
appointed co-chair of the U.S. Climate Alliance. Issuing his first scintillating statement, Gov. Newsom explains that “Americans want
cleaner air and water, lower costs, and healthier communities — and
that’s exactly what Alliance governors are delivering.”

So now the governor of a bankrupt blue state is “delivering” cleaner air and water, lower costs, and healthier communities? Why didn’t he do this
in 2019?

Newsom says “Americans want cleaner air and water, lower costs, and
healthier communities — and that’s exactly what @USClimate governors are delivering.”

If Gov. Newsom really cared about delivering clean water, he would have demanded more water storage to capture snow runoff, winter rains and atmospheric rivers. Newsom has not only not delivered any more water to
farmers and ranchers, he has restricted water deliveries blaming
drought.

If Gavin Newsom really cared about California’s small businesses, 99% of total businesses in the state, he would have cut taxes and regulations
and streamlined permitting to help them grow and thrive. Instead Newsom
talks about California’s small businesses as if he’s one of them. “This month, we are proud to recognize the tremendous contributions of our
small businesses and our ongoing work to support their success,” Newsom
said.

Gov. Newsom is “recognizing” small businesses this month, as more flee
the state. Gee, thanks. That helps a lot.

Gavin Newsom’s priorities have never been about governing the people, or
the state of California – it’s always Gavin Newsom first. And a
reputation facelift cannot fix the underlying issues.

California has the highest gas prices in the nation because of Gavin
Newsom’s policies and regulations. Newsom even signed a “Windfall
Profits Tax” on the state’s oil and industry ostensibly to lower gas
prices when in fact, he increased the cost of gas at the pump.

Remember when through an Executive Order, Newsom’s California Department
of Corrections and Rehabilitation made it easier for 76,000 convicted
felons to be released early? In May 2021 during the Covid pandemic, Gov.
Gavin Newsom announced he would let another 76,000 prisoners out of
state prisons – on his own authority through Executive Order – as
violent crime was spiking in California’s cities.

Remember when in Gavin Newsom’s public schools 2/3 of California
students failed to meet Math standards and more than half of California students failed to meet the state’s English standards?

Or that businesses are leaving the state twice as fast as years prior?

Remember when Gov. Newsom ordered all of California locked down for the
covid flu leaving hundreds of thousands of Californians unemployed? And remember when Newsom’s Employment Development Department sent out $33
billion in unemployment fraud?

Remember Gavin Newsom’s French Laundry Scandal/NFL Luxury Suite Scandal
– During the coronavirus surge, Newsom attended a swanky dinner at the
very expensive Napa Valley French Laundry even though locked all of
California down, and partied maskless in an NFL Luxury Suite despite his
own state mask mandate? Gov. Gavin Newsom and several of the state’s
Mayors were seen and photographed at the NFC Championship game in Los
Angeles without masks on, among 80,000 screaming fans. In fact, masks
were not evident on anyone in the stands, the Globe reported.

Remember when Gov. Newsom lied by 690% about the number of acres treated
with fuel breaks and prescribed burns? Newsom claimed that 35 “priority projects” totaling 90,000 acres were treated, when the state’s data
showed only 11,399 acres had been treated.

Remember when in 2019 Gov. Gavin Newsom’s state of the state address
where the Governor vowed to kill High Speed Rail saying, “there simply isn’t a path to get from Sacramento to San Diego, let alone from San Francisco to LA?” However, Newsom flipped on his promise within the
week, announcing he was allowing one odd segment of the rail project to
be built in the Central Valley, which we nicknamed “the conjugal
express” going from prison to prison, Madera to Bakersfield. President
Trump called for California to return all federal rail funding,
following Newsom’s flip flop.

Newsom’s vanity podcast has been a gigantic misstep. A new poll even
finds that 54% of California voters say Gov. Gavin Newsom is more
focused on his personal political aspirations than solving the state’s problems.

It’s easy to conclude that no amount of cosmetic restorative surgery
will repair California Governor Gavin Newsom’s crumbling political
career and well-deserved reputation.
