    Not a single parent was investigated for speaking at *school board* meetings. The only ones who were investigated were those who made threats of violence against school board members.

    A domestic violence arrest sparked an investigation that led to a man’s indictment on Thursday in two unsolved rapes in Algiers, New Orleans prosecutors said.

    Authorities say that after 22-year-old Navarri Henderrson’s arrest in October on an accusation that he knocked his pregnant girlfriend unconscious, his DNA sample was collected at the jail under state law. That linked him to the sexual assault of two
    strangers on the West Bank, prosecutors said.

    He now faces life imprisonment.

    The first accuser said she was jogging along the Mississippi River levee in Algiers Point, in the 700 block of Patterson Road, on the night of Dec. 28, 2016, when a man grabbed her from behind, beat her and raped her.

    The woman was left with a dislocated hip, fractured wrist and broken nose, prosecutors said.

    Separately, shortly after midnight on Aug. 1, 2018, a woman told police she was walking toward MacArthur Boulevard when a man forced her behind a grocery store, strangled her unconscious, raped her and robbed her.

    That woman was pregnant, as was Henderson’s girlfriend of two years when he broke her jaw on Oct. 8, 2019, police said.

    Henderson faces two counts each of first-degree rape and aggravated kidnapping, as well as counts of second-degree robbery, domestic abuse battery of a pregnant victim and obstruction of justice.

    Henderson was in custody on $450,000 bail on Thursday.

    He is being represented by the Orleans Public Defenders, who don’t generally comment on pending cases.

    The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify a person of interest for questioning in the ongoing investigation of an attempted aggravated rape that occurred on October 9, 2022, in the 1900 block of South Carrollton Avenue.

    Through investigation, NOPD Special Victims Section Sex Crimes Unit detectives have developed the pictured unknown black male as a person of interest. The subject is not currently wanted on criminal charges at this time. However, detectives feel this
    individual may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to question him.

    The subject is further described as being approximately 20-30 years of age and dark complected with a medium build, standing approx. 5’10”-6’0” and with dark, short and wavy hair

    New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with identifying and locating a person of interest in connection with the investigation of two sexual batteries.

    Sought is a Black male (pictured), age 20 to 30, height 5' 7 to 5' 9", weight 150 to 180 pounds, with a braid-like hairstyle.

    According to investigators, the person of interest is believed to be in possession of important information concerning two sexual batteries which occurred at about 8:42 p.m. on June 15, 2024 in the 900 to 1100 blocks of City Park Avenue.

    Please note the pictured individual is NOT wanted for these crimes.

    Anyone with information about the crime or the person of interest is asked to call Special Victims Division detectives at 504-658-6785 or to anonymously call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

    PORTLAND, Ore. - Two men are charged with sexually abusing and assaulting two homeless women an hour apart in Southeast Portland.

    The first victim, a 44-year-old woman, went to the hospital with face and chest injuries during the sexual assault on June 18. The second victim, a 27-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted and then beaten with a metal wrench, suffering head, wrist and
    hand injuries, police said.

    The women, who frequent 82nd Avenue, were both assaulted in the area of Southeast 82nd Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

    The 27-year-old met the two men earlier in the day and was attacked later in the evening, about an hour after the men sexually assaulted the 44-year-old woman, police said.

    The suspects, 21-year-old Bradley James Ritmiller and 20-year-old Bobby Lee Alsup III, were arrested June 23 on parole violations.

    On July 26, Ritmiller and Alsup were indicted on two counts of first-degree sodomy, first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree kidnap, two counts of second-degree assault and third-degree assault.

    Ritmiller is in the Multnomah County Jail and Alsup is staying in the Clackamas County Jail.

    Portland police investigators are concerned there are more victims out there. Anyone with information, should call Detective Cory Stenzel at 503-823-0453.
