Two churchgoers have been killed and a state trooper was
seriously wounded in two shootouts during a gunman's
rampage.
Officers said they were first dispatched to a shooting
involving a Kentucky State Police Trooper at around
11.40 am Sunday on Terminal Drive, outside of Blue
Grass Airport in Lexington.
The trooper had apparently pulled over the gunman due
to a license plate reader on a nearby traffic camera,
when the suspect shot him, authorities explained at
an afternoon press conference.
The shooter then carjacked a vehicle and fled 16 miles
to Richmond Road Baptist Church, where he was cornered
by pursuing cops, police said.
Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said the gunman -
who may have a connection to the congregation- fired
on worshippers inside the Baptist church.
Beverly Gumm, 72, and Christina Combs, 32, were shot dead
as they tried to escape, and two men were wounded and
rushed to the hospital, one in critical condition.
Meanwhile, three Lexington Police Department officers
opened fire on the gunman and killed him
. . .
And they wondered why churches might want to
have armed security/members ...

not for U.S. citizens on Social Security?
Nice try but it *was*, in fact, by due process.
"Nearly a year ago, on Feb. 28, 2017, President Trump signed H.J. Res.
40, effectively ending the Social Security Administration's
requirement to enter the names of people who receive mental health
benefits into the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.
This is the database used by the FBI to determine who is able to
purchase firearms."

If they were real Americans they would have shot him first because there's no better place to pack heat than when you're in church.

Tell us where the shooter got the gun and if it was related to the
policy change.

As we are reliably informed, "due process" requires a court hearing in front >> of a judge.
"Due process" means whatever process the law specifies for a given
situation. That may or may not always require a judge.
Being on the NICBCS automatically denies one a gun and that is a 'due process' as prescribed by law.

You don't know what you're talking about. You have to be ADJUDICATED as
"a mental defective" or "committed to any mental institution".
*sigh*
Learn to read. That adjudication is how you end up on the list IN THE
FIRST PLACE.

Not under the proposed regulation that was disapproved of by Congress, Governor Shill. 'Due process' in these cases means a written notice,
an adversarial hearing before a judge, and consul for the defendant
before a determination can be made.
