The NWS predicts it will soon move closely up
the coast, at least to Hattaras.
We usually think of storms forming over the
ocean ... but in THIS case it's over LAND in
northern Florida. The state is kind of skinny,
meaning feeding winds can be drawn in from
all sides.
There has been a sort-of stationary front over
north Florida for a couple of weeks now. This
is the catalyst.
