A windmill turbine blade became loose Monday morning, crossing
the median on Interstate 70 in Maryland and causing traffic to
be backed up for several miles.

According to Maryland State Police (MSP), troopers responded
to I-70 West, near Interstate 81, just after 5 a.m. There,
they learned that a tractor-trailer had been hauling a
windmill blade west on I-70 when the blade became loose.

The blade then ended up across the center median, blocking
the eastbound lanes, according to state police.

    . . .

    Wonderful safe 'green energy' .......

Disintegrating windmills are nothing new alas.

Almarists say what if a big meteor hits Texas? They need to ban windmill blades and meteors. Draw up the papers for Trump to sign, he's going to
    save us all.

Well, BAN the dangerous things immediately !!!

Trump IS cutting the tiny green balls off the
eco-nutters. NOW any PV installations have to
use US-Made PV panels. No more subsidies for
    windmills and such either.

    DRILL BABY DRILL !

A maze of laws/regs will set back the green-balls
    people a LONG way.

No, I have nothing against 'greener' energy sources.
However they should not over-ride more traditional
energy sources UNTIL THEY CAN OUT-PERFORM. Screw the
    politics/philosophy/ideology/fake-sci ... wait until
    it's REALLY good enough.

    10/20 years maybe ? Then ....

Meanwhile, let's double our number of nuke plants.
Strongly suggest "pebble bed" ... can't melt down.
Waste ... we'll find SOMEplace. Suggest subducting
continental boundaries ... gone for 60 million years.
