Iran theoretically can close off the Persian Gulf.
This would put a BIG crimp in global oil supplies.
So FAR it hasn't done that. Likely the USA would
act aggressively to PREVENT it - but corps and
their insurers may not be so convinced.
USA production is UP now ... but I don't think
it can compensate for the Persian Gulf being
closed off, short/medium-term anyhow.
