Trump claims to be making progress with the EU in
terms of the trade issues. As such he has delayed
the promised high tariffs.
Today's result was a large surge in the traditional
stock markets.
But what happens if the proposed deals don't work
out so well ?
We shall see ...
The WEIRD thing in the past week was Trump
suddenly reversing and allowing Japan to
acquire a controlling interest in US Steel.
I do not distrust Japan, should the shit
hit the fan defense-wise, but it's a major
position reversal for Trump.
Due to the escalating Chinese threat, Japan
will want some offshore steel production and
forging capability. We've seen similar with
the Taiwan semiconductor interests. The
ultimate defense/rebuilding of those nations
may rest on offshore - meaning USA - facilities.
