Trump just inaugurated his proposed nation-wide
missile defense, the "Golden Dome".
He just estimated a three year construction period
and an ultimate bill of about $175 billion. Today's
kick-off costs $25 billion.
It seems Alaska will be a big initial recipient due
to its strategic position.
Trump has long been impressed by Israel's "Iron Dome"
system - and it proved its worth when Iran rained
various missiles onto Israel. Russian and Chinese
front-line arms might be harder to hit, but Trump
says his system will be using more advanced tech
than Iron Dome.
Canada appears interested in buying into the system.
Defense contractors will be VERY happy.
Oh, final statement as the presser was breaking
up - "No cuts to Medicare !" ... though it's
actually MedicAID that's in danger of cuts
in the new budget bill.
