Trump wants a free hand with his XOs, even if they
are more or less against what's in the constitution.
BUT ... Trump/GOP/MAGA won't be in charge forever.
If Trump gets extra authority then NEWSOM (or worse)
gets that power too just down the line.
Somebody gave an example ... what about the next
lefty POTUS who wants to ban/confiscate all guns
no matter what the 2nd amendment says ? If Biden
thought he could do that I think he WOULD have.
Would likely cause an instant civil war, but he
would have done it anyway. K ... pretty for-sure.
SO ... even if you're 101% for everything Trump is
trying to do, it is INSANELY UNWISE to give a POTUS
the ability to walk around the constitution and
some of our most foundational laws and principles
at the flick of a pen.
I've proposed putting time limits on XOs ... either
congress puts a stamp on them within like 60 days
or they GO AWAY. *That* might be something that
the legislature could agree on.
