Vladimir Putin will not meet with Volodymyr Zelensky
in Istanbul to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, the
    Kremlin has confirmed.

The Russian delegation will instead be headed by
presidential aide Vladimir Medinksy, according to a
Kremlin statement which ended speculation that the
Russian president could meet Mr Zelensky for the first
time since the invasion of Ukraine

Mr Zelensky said he would attend the peace talks but
    only if Putin were present.

Putin first proposed direct negotiations in Turkey
“without any preconditions” on Sunday but he did not
say who would attend from Moscow’s side.

    . . .

    More Putin bullshit ......

Admittedly, BOTH leaders should legitimately fear
assassination attempts outside their own countries.
Vlad likes poison, Zel could be rigged to blow,
or just have a ceramic razor.

In any case, Vlad is not remotely an honest dealer.
Time to make things a lot less pleasant for Russia.
There are more serious sanctions/measures that can
be taken to strain the Russian economy plus, well,
bigger badder longer-range weapons for Ukraine.

Hmmm ... are there any 'cluster-bomb drones' -
something that can spew 50 or 100 little 'grenades'
    over Russian troop concentrations ?

Sorry, Trump doesn't trust Putin to be an

Putin was never going to Istanbul. I wonder what he thought when he
saw the Erdogan's state reception of Zelenski?

Putin is JUST FUCKING AROUND. At the MOMENT he's in
the superior position and can DO that and get a
    good laugh.

However, now seems that even Trump has lost faith ...

That will mean more SERIOUS consequences.

    But that's tomorrow ...

Stay tuned. Don't touch that dial.

Oh wait, the modern gens don't even know
    what that MEANS :-)

    hehe

I suspect the Euros might have something cooking. Plus, Ukraine
continues to exercise drone dominance. Earlier this week at an
undefended airbase near the Estonian border, Ukrainian drones
destroyed four Ilushyn transport aircraft and damaged two more.

That's nearly half a billion in aircraft gone in a single strike.

The shorter-term idea is to KEEP costing Russia.
Ukraine IS much better with drone ops. Should
be an inspiration to all western powers - more
with less. FORGET 10-mil disposable drones -
    follow the Ukraine paradigm !

However, this MAY not be ENOUGH. Time for Trump to
really put the screw on Russia no matter WHAT it
threatens. This is the ONLY tact that might contain
Putin's imperial ambitions. Not sure WHERE China
figures into this yet. However if we don't have
the balls to repel Putin then Xi WILL get ideas.

    Dangerous world.

My thinking is eventually someone in the Kremlin will tire of
Putin's waste and kill him. The next president will have no
commitment to the war and will end it.
