Are "all of these DEI and woke craziness" the diseases or are they
symptoms of other deep-seated disease exacerbated by rapid technological advances?
"Overwhelmed-ness" ? May play a role. Even 100 years ago
most things we dealt with were 'material', visceral, you
could figure out a hammer, a ladder, a brick, even engines
were pretty damned simple. Today - if you're not into the
3-digits on the IQ spectrum and get extensive training
you won't know WHY anything works - it's all too much for
a very large segment of the pop.
So, the reaction seems to be "Who Knows / Who Cares ?"
Having a fairly OK 1st-world country also contributes
to that reaction - "We don't NEED to know, things are
just fine !". 2nd/3rd-world, things are NOT fine, you
have to claw out as much knowledge as you can just to
not starve in an alleyway.
