Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy blasted the Defense
Department following an incident this week where an Army
helicopter in D.C. airspace forced two commercial passenger
jets landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
to shift course.
“Unacceptable. Our helicopter restrictions around DCA are
crystal clear. In addition to investigations from @NTSB
and @FAANews, I’ll be talking to the @DeptofDefense to ask
why the hell our rules were disregarded,” Duffy wrote in
a post on X on Friday. “No more helicopter rides for VIPs
or unnecessary training in a congested DCA airspace full
of civilians. Take a taxi or Uber - besides most VIPs
have black car service.”
. . .
Ok ... what IS it with the mil here ?
Yes, the mil IS 'important' - but sans a genuine
emergency that doesn't mean all air traffic should
just get out of their way.
You'd THINK they'd have learned something after the
very recent flaming debacle at the same airport.
