    Eleven people are dead and many others injured after an
    SUV drove through the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver
    last night.

    The death toll could rise in the coming days and weeks, interim
    police Chief Steve Rai said.

    Hundreds of people were on-site at the time, as the festival
    was just wrapping up after a warm, sunny day.

    A 30-year-old suspect is in police custody, but Rai said no
    charges have yet been laid.

    The man has an “extensive history” of interactions with
    police and mental health professionals, he added.

    Saturday evening's incident, the Canadian prime minister
    called it a "car ramming attack", saying he was both
    "devastated" and "heartbroken."
