    . . .

Well ... TWO sides to it.

MOST of the "climate" bullshit IS bullshit - just
the usual Al Gore doom & gloom & disaster crap.
    Doom-saying has always been popular.

Not ALL of the "climate" stuff is BS however.

But how do you tell WHICH ???

In any case, now, the US govt IS going to see
it ALL as BS just as the prev admin swore it
    all was completely true.

"The Science" ??? Forget it ! TOO much politics
and money tied up in all this.

Insurance rates. FEMA responses by region.

NOT the best guides ... disasters are periodic,
almost random. California may have burned this
year, but it'll be fine next year, then floods,
    then the Big One .........

"Responders" - including govt and insurers - tend
to take a short-term view. It's convenient, seems
valid, they can defend it, but may not be the Truth.

More and more property owners are being affected by weather events.
This is a growing trend due in part to economic growth and spread, and
higher sea levels and changed weather patterns.

There is NO DOUBT that sea levels have gone up significantly over the
    past fifty years.

    I'm well over 50 ... nothing's changed that I can notice.
When I visit the sea, it seems to be coming up to the same
old levels as when I was a kiddie.

Now I know better measurements can be had - but they vary
a bit depending on the method and data set and, regardless,
are politically HYPED out the ass. "The Science" can 101%
prove Trump is completely right, or 101% the opposite.

DID see something on a Brit news site the other day. Seems
tests to see how to block a percent or so of the sunlight
are approved. High-altitude dust - esp if the size/shape
of the grains are well selected - CAN work, isn't TOO
expensive and un-does itself in a couple of years in
case of oopsies. However I've seen more extreme schemes,
all the way to putting a planetary dust ring kinda like
Saturn's around the earth at maybe 500,000 miles.

Alas, right after they do that, some huge volcano in
Indonesia will squirt a teraton of dust into the air
and we'll all freeze for years. Murphy always rules
    supreme :-)

That's a way the right dismisses "The Science" They label all climate science as political in order to justify considering all climate
    science to be political.

Alas there's too much "leftist science" and "rightist science"
these days. Don't be quick to believe either. Scientific Truth
tends to be proven in the LONG term - many tests and counter-
research and on and on. Hell, Einstein still hasn't got his
Nobel for Relativity ... still too many fine points left
    to prove ...

General science and education in general are held in poor regard by
    magas.

By the MASSES alas .... sci literacy kinda hit a peak in
the mid 60s during the Space Race and then collapsed.

Norway and Canada have recently allocated funds to attract US
researchers to their countries as American universities lose funding
    because of Trump.

    Fine.

Insurers are short term? Then how does life insurance work? /s

There’s a lot more statistical underpinnings to keep it both profitable as well as to undercut one’s competitors’ prices to attract customers.

When I visit the sea, it seems to be coming up to the same

I’ve noticed it, in no small part because of 30+ years going back to the
same private concrete piers and noticing now how their clearance at high
tide has been getting less & less. Both are built on rock, so no settling
as an alternate explanation- I figure at least 3” of sea level rise.

Likewise, longitudinal observations on water temperatures…they’ve been creeping up year over year, which is increasing algae coverage on the reef.
Two years ago, the waters hit 90F+ …and then stayed there for two months, causing very extensive coral bleaching. This killed off all of the pillar, staghorn & elkhorn corals and they’re still completely dead - zero recovery
    - as prior summer heat temps were 88F at most, and then for only a ~dozen
    days per season.

Now I know better measurements can be had - but they vary
a bit depending on the method and data set and, regardless,

    It’s the opposite.

Reintroducing sulphur to diesel fuel would help too, but that increases acidification.

Some, but they also belch CO2, which is offsetting the particulate based cooling. Human sources of of CO2 are equivalent to having a Mt St Helen’s eruption every 2.5 days.
