Criminal gangs in Sweden are determining where children attend
school in order to maintain control over local drug networks
and recruit new members, according to a report by public
broadcaster SVT.
The findings, published by the investigative programme Uppdrag
granskning, reveal that gangs have carved up school zones across
parts of Sweden and are placing young recruits in specific
schools to support their operations.
School staff interviewed for the report said older gang members
instruct younger associates on which schools to attend, ensuring
the gang retains influence over both territory and students.
“They are told from above where to go in order to hold on to
their power, their area or a particular school,” one school
liaison officer told SVT.
The report states that schools now serve as bases for gang
activity, including drug distribution, weapons storage, and
recruitment. Young people involved in gang networks coordinate
with one another before choosing which school to attend,
often selecting locations where they feel protected by friends
or existing contacts.
For some, the decision is about safety as much as loyalty.
One student, identified only as “Hassan,” told SVT that he
avoided schools in areas where he had enemies, fearing
retaliation. He admitted to carrying weapons, including a
knife and a firearm, on school grounds due to concerns
that rival gang members might find him during school hours.
“People walk around schools looking for others. It’s quite
common,” he said.
The Swedish Prosecution Authority reports a dramatic rise
in youth involvement in violent crime. In the past decade,
the number of 15–17-year-olds implicated in murder
investigations has increased by more than 1,000 percent.
. . .
"Hassan" eh ?
Lemme guess, these gangs aren't Aryan-looking people ...
Well Sweden, YOU approved all the nice 'immigrants', so ...
