Well, despite the physical size, it is not a
very populous country. The mil stuff it has
appears to be top rate, but there's no way
for it to stand up to a Russian invasion.
That's the point of alliances. You don't need to be the biggest guy
in the room. Your brother got your back and your cousin got your
enemy's. What would Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland be
doing to the Russian rear?
THAT is why alliances are so important. Broad based, deeply agreed
upon, being friends . . . that will keep us more secure than all the
guns ever made.
You don't attack your *friends*. That is the core of Pax Americana
that MAGAs don't seem to get.
But does Russia really have to invade the whole
place to achieve strategic goals ? The narrow
passage between Sweden and Denmark controls
sea access to the Baltic.
And how are the Russians to reach the straits when they're blockaded
from the Gulf of Finland, trapped in Petrograd.
Even a small force,
or a couple of subs, could take and hold the
area for awhile at least.
Meanwhile, what would Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland
be doing to the Russian rear?
