Lauterbach: making it easier to contain pandemics
On the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO),
190 countries have signed a pandemic treaty. German Health
Minister Lauterbach is optimistic.
. . .
BULLSHIT ... CAN'T be done these days. The world is
too small, politics too timid and slow. We saw how
Covid spread wild everywhere and we EXPECT the next
giant epidemic to spread just as fast. Just TOO
many ways for infected people to move across the
globe literally overnight.
100 years ago, different. But now is NOW. Anyone
from the EU, or Africa, or China, or the Amazon,
can be in every big world city within 24 hours
coughing their diseases on everyone.
By the time Covid was recognized as real, even
with the fast-ish Trump reaction, it was FAR TOO
LATE. It's gonna STAY that way.
Well, I guess we could go back to steam-ships
and Zeppelins .............
