Big Tech should not be discriminated against in taxation, according
to a joint statement by United States President Donald Trump and
Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni issued after their meeting at the
    White House Thursday.

"We underscore the importance of information technology to foster
free enterprise overseas. We agreed on the need for a non-
discriminatory environment in terms of taxation of digital
services to foster investments by cutting-edge technology
companies", read the statement released by the White House
    after the bilateral meeting.

    . . .

To reduce Chinese influence the west HAS to boost
it's own high-tech industries. The lefties will
scream "Tax-breaks for the Rich" - but fuck 'em ...
they want China to rule the world anyhow.

Vance is now in Italy for a followup meet with Meloni.

Under Trump, US jobs are moving overseas even faster than before
    Dec 1 2017

"We're just shipping company after company
after company is leaving this country and
leaving jobs behind," president Donald Trump
said on the campaign trail last year. "And
I'm going to get it stopped."

So far, not so good. A group that advocates
for federal workers says government records
show (pdf) more than 10,000 jobs at federal
contractors have been sent over overseas
since Trump was elected. That's more than
double the average annual amount during
    Barack Obama's presidency.

Yup. Trump's firing of the best people in most departments is going to
take decades to recover from. This was not about efficiency. It was pure revenge against people he imagined didn't vote for him. Putting in
toadies for Trump instead of competent people is costing us dearly already.

Rightists are notoriously weak, stupid and poor. Easily duped due to
their inferior intelligence. Most don't pay taxes because they don't earn
any money. A penalty for being lazy and stupid. The general consensus is that our world would be a much better place if we lined all the rightists
up against a wall and shot them.

Study links low intelligence with right-wing beliefs

Researchers have found a possible explanation for why
certain people are prejudiced: they're less
    intelligent.

Children with lower general intelligence are more
likely to become prejudiced as adults, according to a
    Brock University study.

The study, published in the journal Psychological
Science, examined data from two large-scale British
studies, and found lower intelligence scores in
childhood were predictors of greater racism in
    adulthood, which the researchers controversially
explain is brought about by adopting right-wing
    ideologies.

A secondary analysis of data from a U.S. study also
showed those with poor abstract-reasoning skills were
more likely to have anti-homosexual prejudice,
    partially linked to authoritarian attitudes.

Lead researcher Gordon Hodson told LiveScience that
the results of the study indicate a vicious cycle, in
which people with low intelligence are drawn to
socially conservative ideologies. In turn, those
    ideologies can contribute to prejudices.

"Socially conservative ideologies tend to offer
structure and order," he said, explaining why those
with lower intelligence may gravitate toward the
right. "Unfortunately, many of these features can
    contribute to prejudice."

The researchers found that people with lower
intelligence also tended to have less contact with
other races and groups, which, Dr. Hodson said,
    supports previous research that determined
interacting with other groups is mentally challenging
    and cognitively draining.

Dr. Hodson explained the findings do not mean all
liberals are smart and all conservatives are stupid,
LiveScience.com reports. "There are multiple examples
of very bright conservatives and not-so-bright
liberals, and many examples of very principled
conservatives and very intolerant liberals," he said.

Previous research has suggested that the brains of
conservatives and liberals are wired differently.

Meloni is afraid to deal with Italy's right wing Christian pedophile
problem because they voted for her.

Italian priests sexually abused children for decades, inquiry finds
Victims as young as eight were preyed on by clergy and three boys took
    their own lives

Dozens of children in northern Italy were sexually abused by priests for
more than six decades, according to a groundbreaking report commissioned by
    the Catholic Church.
An independent report prepared for the diocese of Bolzano-Brixen found 67
cases of clerical sexual abuse occurred in the diocese between 1963 and
2023, and priests had abused 59 boys and girls, some as young as eight.
Ivo Muser, the bishop of Bolzano-Brixen, said: Every case is one too many.
We need to have a change in our mentality, a new culture of closeness.
In a first for Italy, the diocese, which lies in the German-speaking region
of South Tyrol on the Austrian border, asked a Munich law firm to conduct
an inquiry into the extent of abuse.
It takes courage to look at the past, but also the present and the future, Bishop Muser said. We want the church to be a safe place, especially for children, and young and vulnerable people.
    Bishop Ivo Muser
Ivo Muser, the bishop of Bolzano-Brixen, the diocese in northern Italy
which commissioned the report Credit: Lorenzo Zambello/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock Three male victims reportedly took their own lives after they were abused.
One priest, identified only as Case Number 15, conducted the funeral of a
boy victim whose suicide, according to relatives, was a result of the same priests sexual abuse.
Perpetrators have abused power at the expense of those affected, Bishop
Muser said. This is an overwhelming burden, but we must look at the
    reality.
Italian bishops have previously faced criticism for restricting reports on abuse to the 2020-2022 period and the Bolzano-Brixen report sets a
precedent for other dioceses in Italy to examine historic abuse allegations more closely.
Westpfahl Spilker Wastl, the German lawyers, produced a 631-page document
based on church archives and interviews. It concluded 53 of the possible
cases of abuse were supported by some form of plausible evidence.
Nata Gladstein, one of the lawyers involved in the investigation, said the numbers were only a small part of what had really happened in the diocese.
The inquiry found the victims included boys and girls aged from eight to
14, while their alleged abusers were on average aged between 28 and 35. Reported to diocesan leadership
Many of the accusations had been reported to the diocesan leadership over
the years, and suggestions that they were isolated perpetrators had no substance, the report said.
One priest, suspected of preying on girls for nearly 50 years, remained unpunished until 2010, when he was forced into retirement by the local
    bishop.
He did not face Italian criminal proceedings because of the statute of limitations.
According to the reports authors, he continued to abuse victims due to the general systemic failure of the Church, which did nothing but repeatedly transfer him.
Pope Francis has made the fight against clerical sexual abuse a priority of
his papacy, but many abuse victims believe he has not done enough to stop
    the abuse and remove perpetrators.
In 2019, the Pope mandated that all clerics report suspicion of abuse or cover-up to their church superiors. But he has not mandated reporting of
abuse to civil authorities, except where required by local laws.
