Former Vice President Kamala Harris would enjoy a wide lead
over the rest of the field if she were to enter the 2026 race
for California governor, according to an Inside California
Politics/Emerson College poll released Thursday.
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted April
12-14 and included 18 hypothetical candidates for the June
2026 primary.
The poll found that 31% of those who plan to vote would support
Harris if she were to enter the race. Fellow Democrat Katie
Porter follows with 8%, while 4% support Riverside County
Sheriff Chad Bianco, a Republican.
