Burger King fans in Florida and Georgia could soon see more
locations shutter, as one of the fast food chain’s major
    franchisees has filed for bankruptcy.

Consolidated Burger Holdings, which operated 75 restaurants
across the two states, quietly closed nearly 20 locations
before filing for Chapter 11 protection last week.

That brings its total store count down to 57 — and more
closures could be on the way as it looks to cut costs
    during bankruptcy.

The filing comes after other major Burger King franchisees,
including TOMS King and Meridian Restaurants, also filed
for bankruptcy in the last two years.

Consolidated says it still plans to upgrade and remodel
some restaurants, but it’s also looking to sell off
    assets through a court-supervised sale.

    . . .

BK hasn't been as smart as its rivals alas.

Awhile back they spent a fortune "updating the
look" of the places - but NOT the food. Their
items got smaller and smaller and the burgers
tasted more and more of burnt hockey pucks.

The last things I ever bought there were the
fish sandwiches - and then even the fish got
smaller to the point of not being worth it.

McD at least kept the food semi-edible and
    Wendy's did that even better.

So ... if the corp goes under it's THEIR fault,
not 'inflation', not Trump, it's the QUALITY
    they didn't bother to maintain.

Agreed. BK's food used to be much better. More and fresher toppings
in your whopper, hot sizzling burgers. Fast food doesn't work with
    big menus. KISS

    Agree.

Kinda rare between me and ye huh ? :-)

BK burgers became just awful - even the bigger ones.
The fries ain't great either. Onion rings ... so-so.
McD fries are still the best, but Wendy's burgers
    and chik are better.

Anyway, I can't/won't eat that kind of food anymore.
What a drag it is getting old ........

There ARE some newer start-ups competing with the
old fast-food spectrum that, so far, get good
reviews. Not nearly so MANY however - not two or
    three in every town.

I haven't had a Whopper in a long time. I'd pay a dime or two for extra tomato and extra onion. I had an Impossible Whopper once; not bad!

Sometimes the smell coming from a Burger King is mouth-watering. Other times
it smells like a burning candle.

Mom wanted Hardee's for lunch today. Drive thru, lunch for two,
thirty bucks. Three blocks later we had cold, pale, soggy fries, limp lettuce in the chicken wraps and a barely warm burger with cold bacon.

    Thirty bucks.

    Biden! :-D
