A tour helicopter carrying six was filmed
plunging into the Hudson river this afternoon.

The first obvious bit - there was no tail.

Closer look, no rotor blades either.

Weird as it seems, the thing seems to have cut off
    its own tail.

MIGHT be possible with some extreme maneuver that
forces the semi-flexible blades to curve down far
enough - but you sure as hell don't see this sort
    of thing very often (EVER?).

Other possibility, the rotor assembly more or less
came loose first and the tail got caught in the
whole mess. There HAVE been incidents, some linked
to counterfeit BOLTS (usually Chinese) that are not
strong enough. That issue goes back at least 25
    years in aviation.

Finally, did it hit some heavy-ish DRONE of some
kind ??? So far no reports of any bits found that
did not belong to the chopper.

In any case, all that was left was the passenger
compartment, which plunged full speed and landed
upside down in the river. FDNY said two were taken
to the hospital, but were pronounced dead. Three
children, one only six, were amongst the victims.

Ok ... you can invent some way to blame it on
    Trump now ...........

I saw the footage and it was gut wrenching. The version I saw was too
low in resolution to get much detail other than the fact the tail
separated, followed by the main rotor. I assume the main rotor separated
due to the drastic change in g load and other forces.

I'll stick with fixed wing. Quite the tragedy.
