Trump has added another 50% tariff on China after
China increased it's tariff on US goods. Expect
China to match this new level, effectively negating
Trump's fees.
China is big enough to get away with this - can also
tell the pop not to bitch about anything Or Else. If
trade falls off TOO much it can just send everybody
back to the collective farms for awhile, even if
it's just busy-work.
So what does this look like in a month, both countries
with 5000% tariffs ? That'd just look stupid. It'd
also end all trade between the US and China ... and,
sorry, China makes LOTS of stuff we can't/won't
anytime soon. On the flip, China makes most of its
money selling stuff to the USA.
The economic solutions are kinda obvious, but
robots aren't running things - pig-headed humans
are running things. Rep and honor are involved.
