President Donald Trump has shockingly gone up in popularity
despite sending the global markets into a frenzy after enacting
    sweeping new tariffs.

An exclusive DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners survey of over 1,000
registered voters conducted from March 31 to April 3 found
that the Republican remains largely popular in the U.S.

The poll found that Trump's approval rating rose to 53 percent,
a 4-point increase over last week when it was 49 percent.

Trump's rising approval rating is surprising given the flak the
White House has received over the tariff order signed Wednesday.

It is up by 13 points since March 7 among those aged 18 to 29.

Trump also saw a six-point increase in favorability among
Democrats and independents, according to the survey.

The Republican's support among black voters skyrocketed 17
points since last week, the poll found.

    . . .

Note that it's unclear how GOOD the polling is.
Also only 1000 opinions is kinda iffy - ten
    thousand would be more reliable.

But ... IF this is accurate it demonstrates again
how the MSM is trying to create an alternate reality
about how Americans think about Trump and his kidna
    drastic efforts to reshape things.

    ...

Bullshit from a British tabloid (UK equivalent of the
    National enquirer).

The GOP-leaning WSJ says Trump's popularity is plummeting,
    now underwater at 46%-51%: <https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/americans-were-souring-on-trumps-economic-plans-even-before-tariff-bloodbath-0571527e?mod=hp_lead_pos7>

If I run into anybody who is happy with how he's doing his job, I'll
    let you know.

    Don't hold your breath.

I'd say 60% of people I encounter think Trump
is doing fine - doing what he SAID he'd do.

He promised to shake-up the rip-off trade
    situation, and IS. Despite international
whining and faux-defiance, every country is
booking meetings with Trump to 'discuss'
    his tariffs, to make deals.

Sorry, but NOTHING good was ever gonna happen
without shaking up the Coke can. We let every
other country act solely to protect THEIR
economies, build up their OWN at US expense,
    for many decades.

Well, it ain't 1954 anymore, the USA isn't
the welfare center for the world.

More to the point, the rest of the world's industrial infrastructure
was leveled by war. The US had a period of wealth and growth in the
fifties and sixties not becase of any superiority of American goods,
but because so much of the world no longer had the means to
    manufacture.

Not to mention the start of the Cold War where it
became very important to have a presence to
counter Russia and China. Like aid. But the
FELONDent is leaving that all to his BFF ChiComs
and Rooskies... Magats like c186282 are too dumb

What the right is REALLY upset about is that our advantages have
eroded. Other countries have cutting edge technology and production.
They can and do compete with us on this more level playing field.

Much like the guys who are pissed off that they can't get the best
jobs anymore just by being white and having testicles. They have to
compete with other educated and skilled workers. Dark folks and those
with ovaries can use a computer and design marketing campaigns every
bit as effective as any white guy did. And they'll do it for less
    pay.

Norad couldn't have happened without Canada and Denmark but who footed
    the bulk of the bill?

And I think that's fair. Basically we get to extend our bases and
homeland defense to their borders for practically nothing and they get
to stay under that umbrella for cheap. We don't need to annex
Greenland to have free strategic use of it. Minerals are another
    matter.

An unamerican approach would be fair dealing with people sitting
on top of that. That cuts into profits and obviates manly and
    expensive warfare.
