Come ON now ! The only 'Swedish Value' these days
is a desire to LICK ISLAMIST ASS. That's kinda IT
at this dreadful point.
OTHER article on the same page :
"Swedish media must get better at covering immigrant perspectives"
Guess what that 'perspective' is .....
My European grandparents on both sides had to answer some basic questions on a Civics
exam to gain citizenship.
And all learned to speak English in various ways.
One grandma would read the comics in the newspaper, look at what the characters
were doing in the pictures and associate the word bubbles with that.
She spoke English perfectly as well as her native language.
So did my mom.
Half my fam was the same way, latter 1800s. Still
not sure about the other half, apparently arrived
MUCH earlier. Mostly miners - kinda short lives alas,
certainly no OSHA back then.
And old Gran did read/speak good English - albeit
with a rather strong nord accent. Grandpa DID make
a stop in Greenland on the way over to see if there
was any land/ag op .. NO NO NO ! Gran followed a
year or two later - all by herself through Ellis.
I don't see the problem.
Well, there's a good 'window' for learning other
languages - around age 4-9 - and then that part
of the brain closes down for most people. This
is not politics, but physiology. Parachute me
into Portugal and I'd be lucky to learn ten words
at this point, and likely not use them quite right.
Old Gran DID eventually get it - but took 30+
years ; the oldest kid, born here but DID still
sport a bit of an accent.
But, anyway, they did it all LEGAL and were PROUD
to be new Americans. No hyphenated citizenship or
whatever-community shit with them.
