“In 10 years, probably AI could do anything better than a
human can cognitively, probably almost, I think, in 10 years,
based on the current rate of improvement, AI will be smarter
than the smartest human,” he said. “There will also be a
massive number of robots, so humanoid robots.”
. . .
Some of that seems further than 10 years. The "aIQ" thing
maybe not, but ways of deploying it to a bunch of robots
may be the bugaboo. Also, good batteries for the robots ...
MEANwhile ... nobody of relevance is interested in
setting any actual SAFETY/RELIABILITY regs for 'AI'.
It is very clear that the USA, China and a few other
big powers very much want 'AI' weapons systems. But
that was always gonna happen - the more relevant
issues for the population revolve around 'safety'
and some bearable schemes to ensure 'AI' does not
displace too many human workers.
Musk here said the robots will be able to make you
most anything for cheap - so goodbye human workers.
Alas, obsolete disemployed humans won't even be
able to afford the 'cheap' stuff ... so there may
be a Can't Get There From Here ..........
