Fluoride is added to drinking water in many countries to
prevent cavities, but new research suggests even low exposure
    may impact children’s cognitive abilities.

A study in Bangladesh tracked 500 mothers and their children,
linking higher fluoride levels to reduced cognitive performance,
particularly in verbal reasoning and sensory processing.
While fluoride in toothpaste is generally safe, its presence
in water may pose risks. Scientists stress the need for further
research to reassess fluoride safety limits in drinking water
    and other sources.

    . . .

Admittedly, Bangladesh may NOT be the best place
    to test this hypothesis ......

"Western" world ... note that few people (except me)
don't really DRINK that much tap water. They get it
all from those damned bottles. I'm more old school,
never buy bottled water, but then I'm OLD so there's
no 'developmental' impacts. All the water I remember
from my youth was kinda stinky and tasted strongly
of iron. DID kinda like the odd 'sulfur water'
    supplements, YUM ! ......

In any case, it maybe looks like some damned-if
deal was done here - trading cavities for retardation.
IMHO, get RID of the rat poison in the water. There
are now OTHER fixes for kiddie cavities - plastic-
    like varnishes.

Hmmmm ... evil commie plot ? That idea goes back even
further than "Dr. Strangelove". But, MAYbe ..... even
a few IQ points, times millions of pop, can create a
    strategic difference.
