Was looking for info about the nuke capabilities
of France and the UK the other day.
What was of interest was that France does not
seem to have any "land-based" nuclear capability.
It's all ships/subs and some bombers that flit
around.
WHY ... well, compared to the USA, France is
quite SMALL. If they had ICBM sites in-country
then they'd be primary TARGETS for ground-level
attacks. This would spread HUGE radiation that
would envelope the entire country.
By NOT having "land based" there's nothing INSIDE
France really worth targeting for military reasons.
