NATO countries in Europe more than doubled their arms imports
in the past five years, more than 60 percent of which were
purchases of US weaponry, researchers said on Monday.

The findings by the Stockholm International Peace Research
Institute (SIPRI) coincide with an announcement by European
Union states that they intend to strengthen the continent's
defence capabilities in response to a US foreign policy
    shift under President Donald Trump.

The United States consolidated its position as the world's
top weapons exporter -- accounting for 43 percent of global
exports -- far ahead of the second largest, France, which
    accounted for 9.6 percent.

    . . .

Hmmmm ... I'd have thought China or maybe Russia
would have been the #2 ... not France.

However MOST exports from the USA over that period
were to Ukraine, not NATO per-se.

Anyway, as usual, paranoia and war PAY WELL. Nothing
    new there.

So, NATO countries *are* increasing their defense spending, contrary to Trump's lies, and American arms manufacturers are getting richer from it.
