How many big ocean-going hydrofoils could you
build for that much ? How many big jets ?
Look ... if/until they invent "beaming", physical
distances are STILL gonna be kind of inconvenient.
BEST to think of The Journey rather than how many
minutes and seconds. 19T is just ridiculous - and
undersea quakes and sea-floor spread would DESTROY
tunnels real quick. GREAT terrorist target too.
Why do people even PROPOSE such things ???
Yea, yea, Musk wants to go to Mars - but you can't
really LIVE there. It'd be gigantic infrastructure
and even the dirt is poisonous. OK for a smallish
"research outpost" maybe - but nothing beyond that.
Mars SUCKS. If we want a new planet then it's
"warp drive" or nothing. Even then you'd have to
terraform - thousands of years before you could
breath the air.
