    Depends on the position. Some are exempt because of law, others are
    exempt because of contracts.

    It's almost impossible to get fired from a civil service jobs which is the main reason
    why many larger companies refuse to hire those who spent a significant portion of their career in civil service.

    That's a lie. Civil servants can be fired for poor performance or malfeasance. The point of civil service protection is to prevent political hacks like Trump and Musk from firing civil servants for "disloyalty" and trying to dress it up as performance-based. Whether you like it or not, civil service jobs are *not* employment-at-will, and they should *not* be, because a change in party of the president should not be valid grounds for firing government workers. Government workers are supposed to work for the public, not the administration.
